Maku is located in a mountain gorge at an altitude of 1634m.  The Báb is imprisoned  here in 1847 until moved to the prision in Chiraq. 1819: The Báb is born. 1842: The Báb moves back from Bushihr. 1844: Mulla Husayn meets The Báb. At 15 years of age (1834), The Báb moves here to work as a merchant. until 1841 when he goes to Karbila on pilgrimage. The Báb is imprisoned here from 1848 - 1850. 1841: The Báb goes on pilgrimage to Karbila and Najar. 1845: Táhirih is arrested and then expelled to Baghdad. 1848: Bahá'u'lláh organizes and hosts the conference of Badasht. 81 Bábís attend and it lasts 22 days. 1817: Bahá'u'lláh is born. 1848-52: Táhirih is under house arrest. 1852: Táhirih is strangled. 1852: Bahá'u'lláh is imprisioned.  1853: Bahá'u'lláh  is banished with his family to Bagdad. 1909: Five Bahá´ís establish a hospital. 1847-48: Táhirh is forced to live in her father's house. 1848-49: 72 Bábís take refuge in the shrine of Shaykh Tabarsí and defend themselve here for 7 months. 1845-47: Táhirih is under arrest, then sent to her father's house in Qazvin. 1853: Bahá'u'lláh arrives with his family and leaves alone in 1854. 1856: He returns from Khurdistan. 1863: Bahá'u'lláh is banished to Istanbul. 1822: Quddus is born in Bárurush. 
1849: Quddus is publically tortured and killed. 1848: The Báb was taken to Tábriz to stand trial by the 'ulama, travelling via Urumiya. 
1850: The Báb was executed. 1848: The Báb is given a courteous welcome by the governor of the city when he passes through on his way to Tábriz. 1847: The Báb marries Fátimih. The American Bahá´í Keith Ransom-Kehler, dies in 1933. 1854-56: Bahá'u'lláh  lives in isolation from his family. 1895-6: Probably the first Bahá´í spiritual Assembly in the world. 1817-97: The community supplied schools, kindergarten, a library, hospices for travellers. 
1907: First Bahá´í Temple built. 1848:  Mullá Husayn-i-Bushrú'í is under house arrest. 1848: Quddús is under house arrest. 1850: Vahíd proclaims the Cause of God from the pulpit of a mosque which results in a month long siege with the authorities. 1844: Mírzá Abu'l-Fadl is born. 1868:  Badí' is exiled to here from Bagdad and then walks about 1000 km arriving in Akka in 1869.
