New home at Stuyvesanthof

From 24th of June 2007 onwards

All the appartments on our side of the Bernhardstraat are intended to be demolished and we have been under some pressure to move for the past year or so. As a result of this, we are at the top of the list in terms of points. The more points, the higher in ranking you are for bidding for any place. Sen has been to about 20 places and I've looked at about 10.
We first saw this appartment on May 16th and as it happened Toroa and Tama came as well. We liked the feel of the place in the sense that everything was on one floor and the rent was only 17 Euros more (360 per month) than what we had been paying. Other places were much more expensive. So we agreed to move. We had to sign on May 24th and had one month. In one way it was hectic because then Sen was in Denmark for a conference and then I was in London for a new sculpture and the floors were concrete and the walls a salmon pink-orange, but on the other hand, this being only 3 streets away, it was easy to walk over, and having the van meant we could move stuff bit by bit.

View from the Living Room, which like all the other rooms in the house bore salmon pink walls.
Our first job was to paint all of these white.

Tama asked him what he was making and this is what he said. The submarine was used to support the piles of language dictionaries in Toroa and Tama's bedroom.
