We will be reading and discussing "On Miracles" The text will be available but it would be good to read over this before you arrive. Text: chapter 6, of Spinoza's Theological-Political Treatise / Tractatus Theologico-Politicus (TTP) We will start in the gallery, then walk from the gallery into the park the Palace gardens paleistuin paleistuin and back. Followed by refreshments and discussion. There is a plan B if it rains.

Diatoms of the Anthropocene, polyester embroidery on locally collected plastic waste.
What happens when micro plastic become permanently stitched into the baseline of marine life?

Microscopic diatoms take shape through embroidered plastic waste sourced in The Hague. Diatoms are the foundational base of the aquatic food chain and they produce 20% of the world's oxygen. The work portrays the dichotomy of when plastic pollution becomes permanently stitched into the baseline of marine life.

Mapping Pain Survey, Performance, 28 August 2026
A collective action of mapping individual pain from amongst the participants at the exhibition opening.
To sweeten the exchange of personal information, everyone is invited to eat a strawberry and use the leftover strawberry top to mark on the artist's clothing where they feel pain at that moment in time.
It's a simple premise to collect data on pain, whereas living with pain is anything but simple. The conversations after the performance highlighted this, where some participants approached the artist to talk of their own pain, asked about the artist's physical pain.

Anna Borrie (1985) Aotearoa New Zealand, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master's in Environmental Policy and Management. She met Sen + Sonja while they all were artists in residence at the The Open Studios Project in 2012 at the Rotorua Art Village. Anna's project for this 12 week art residency was Souvenirs of RotoVegas, which invited locals and tourists in the city to reimagine their household plastic waste and create souvenirs out of it.

Anna has also worked for the New Zealand Department of Conservation in the Hauraki Gulf, Lake Wakatipu and Rakiura in resource management and community engagement and in Fiordland as a guide on the Milford Track. She moved to Madrid in 2014 where she runs a community garden for sustainability, the film festival Another Way, interviews artists for the creative arts journal, Planted Journal, and writes Letters to an Artist.
